Our Cruise and Tips for AIDA
AIDA targets the German-speaking cruise market, but that doesn’t mean others can’t sail with them. We are fortunate to speak German as a second language, which made it easier to converse with staff and passengers, read menus and daily programs. However, we found something interesting regarding language onboard, which we’ll cover in our review.
We had tried to sail with AIDA multiple times, but after about six cancellations during COVID, we decided to give up. We had booked directly through AIDA, dealing with the head office in Rostock. Although everything had to be done in German, but we eventually received a refund.
A few years on in 2023 we decided to give AIDA another go and booked through a site in the UK ( the only one that sold AIDA cruises in the UK) and booked a Canary Islands Christmas Cruise, it was our most anticipated cruise however what we experienced was not what we expected.
